AIDAinformazioni is a double-blind peer reviewed scientific journal which follows the publication ethic statements of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors (http://publicationethics.org/resources/guidelines).
All parties involved in the publishing process – author, journal editor, peer reviewers and publisher – have to be aware of and agree with the journal’s ethical standards.
Duties of Editors
Publication decisions
The editors are responsible for publishing the submitted articles, after reading and considering the reviewers’ comments.
Fair Play
Manuscripts are evaluated uniquely for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnic group, nationality, religious or political belief.
Confidentiality
No information about a submitted manuscript can be disclosed by the editor or editorial staff to anyone else than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and publisher.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Unpublished material included in a submitted manuscript must not be used without the author’s manifest and written consent.
Duties of Reviewers
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and may also assist the author in improving his/her paper.
Promptness
Reviewers should promptly notify the editor in case they do not feel competent enough to review a specific manuscript, or know they will not be able to complete the review within the scheduled time.
Confidentiality
Submitted manuscripts must be treated as confidential documents and reviewers must not discuss the contents with third parties, except as authorized by the editor.
Standards of Objectivity
Reviews must be conducted objectively. Reviewers should express their views clearly and support their assessments with valid arguments.
Acknowledgement of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. Reviewers should also inform the editor of any substantial similarity or overlap between the submitted manuscript and any other published paper of which they have personal knowledge.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must treat any information or ideas obtained through peer review as confidential and not use it for personal advantage.
Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.
Duties of Authors
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors should ensure that their work is original. If someone else’s work and/or words have been used, they must be appropriately cited or quoted.
Multiple, Redundant or Concurrent Publication
As a general rule, authors should not submit for publication manuscripts which are substantially similar to papers which have already been published. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal constitutes unethical publishing behaviour, and is unacceptable.
Acknowledgement of Sources
The work of others should be properly acknowledged. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work.
Authorship of the Paper
All those who have made significant contributions to the manuscript should be listed as co-authors. Any other person who has significantly participated in the research project should be explicitly acknowledged in the final paper.
The corresponding author should ensure that all reported co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper, and have agreed to its submission for publication.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.
Major errors in published works
Authors must verify the accuracy of every piece of information, including references, before submitting the manuscript. When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author’s duty to promptly notify the journal editor and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.
